When I was small and unaware;
Taught me to care for what I had,
You showed me things weren't always fair,
You cheered me up when I would lose;
Sat by my side when hope was lost,
Gave me the confidence to choose,
To understand a moments cost,
You shaped my mind and quelled my fear,
So I was young and unafraid;
A mother's love is truly dear,
When through it all a bond is made,
And now I'm grown and do the same,
My kids know love and in return;
